STUDENT AFFAIRS AND SERVICES UNIT (SASU)

The Student Affairs and Services Unit (SASU) primarily provides diverse student services, supplementing and complementing the formal curricular program. It also serves as a focal point for student discipline and promotes student protection, welfare, and development. It is directly under the supervision of ODAH. It is responsible for promoting the welfare and development of the PNU students, enhancing the intellectual, cultural, and social environment of the campus, assisting the students in decision-making processes, and refining their intrapersonal, interpersonal, and social relations.

SASU has the following functions:

1. Conducts orientation/reorientation on PNU policies for freshmen and other students;
2. Regulates and monitors student organization and club activities;
3. Coordinates the accreditation/re-accreditation of clubs and student organizations;
4. Monitors scholarship activities, i.e., posting announcements, preparing lists and transmittals, and others;
5. Disseminates information and communication relevant to student welfare, i.e., posting of job openings, seminars, etc.;
6. Disseminates, screens, and recommends nominees for the Campus-based co-curricular awards and searches like TOSP and others;
7. Organizes pre-employment seminars and job fairs for graduating students;
8. Issues the Certificate of Good Moral Character;
9. Monitors and implements the evaluation of student services, i.e., admission, enrollment, class advisement, medical services, library services, canteen, dormitory, guidance and counseling services, student activities, scholarships, and others;
10. Monitors the filing, storing, and updating of individual student records, which may serve as a database for evaluation, placement, and research purposes;
11. Coordinates with the concerned offices and units on matters pertaining to admission, enrollment, and other student needs and concerns;
12. Provides guidance and counseling services to students referred to SASU;
13. Supervises and monitors the implementation of programs, projects, and activities of culture and sports, student publications, scholarship, guidance, and counseling as part of the unit of the OSAS;
14. Ensure that the University policies involving students are properly enforced;
15. Provides services such as issuing the Campus IDs, managing the lost and found center, and issuing clearance to students; and
16. Manages the student publication.
