PHILIPPINE NORMAL UNIVERSITY SOUTH LUZON

On March 24, 2025, the Philippine Normal University South Luzon conducted its Exit Conference with the Commission on Audit (COA) at its campus’ Instructional Technology Center (ITeC) Conference Hall. This annual meeting serves as a platform for discussing the audit findings and recommendations for Fiscal Year 2024, aiming to enhance transparency and improve financial operations.
The PNU South Luzon delegation was led by Campus Executive Director and Provost (EDP) Dr. Leah Amor S. Cortez, accompanied by key administrative and financial officers. The COA team was headed by the Supervising Auditor Atty. John Ferdinand V. Balgua, who was represented by the OIC- Audit Team Leader Ms. Regine Rossa Avila and Ms. Kamille Macaranas.
The conference commenced with the introduction of participants and an overview of the audit process. Ms. Macaranas emphasized the importance of the exit conference in ensuring fair and balanced reporting, as well as the effective implementation of audit recommendations. She noted that such engagements are crucial for fostering cooperation between government agencies and promoting good governance.
EDP Cortez expressed gratitude for COA’s guidance and feedback, acknowledging that while PNU South Luzon strives to meet established standards, continuous improvement is essential.
The COA audit team, through Ms. Avila, then presented their observations and recommendations, covering areas such as financial management, compliance with government regulations, and the status of implementation of prior audit suggestions. Interactive discussions followed, allowing PNU South Luzon officials to seek clarifications, provide additional comments, and present their action plans.
The conference concluded with a commitment from both parties to collaborate effectively in addressing the audit findings. EDP Cortez reiterated PNU South Luzon’s dedication to transparency and continuous improvement, ensuring that the institution upholds the highest standards of public accountability.
This exit conference underscores the shared commitment of PNU South Luzon and COA to uphold integrity and excellence in public service through a harmonious relationship, reinforcing the campus’ role as a leading institution in teacher education in the region.
