As part of PNU South Luzon’s celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, the Philippine Normal University South Luzon brought together its officials, faculty, administrative staff, and students at the Campus Gymnasium on October 14, 2026, for PAGPUPUGAY 2026: World Teachers’ Day Post-Celebration and Pinning Ceremony for Pre-Service Teachers.
Anchored on the theme “Teacher, Ikaw Naman: A Tribute to Educators, A New Chapter for Future Teachers,” the event was jointly organized by the Events Management Unit (EMU), Human Resource Management and Development Unit (HRMDU), and the Student Government to pay tribute to educators while ushering in the university’s next generation of teachers.
The morning program opened with the solemn ceremonial pinning of 4th-year pre-service teachers across the Bachelor in Mathematics and Science Elementary Education (BMSEE), Bachelor in Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics (BTLEd-HE), and Agri-Fishery Arts (BTLEd-AFA) programs. Mr. Joe Anthony L. Basco, Pinning Ceremony Speaker, challenged pre-service teachers to uphold Kapwa, Bayani, and Kababaang-loob as core values in being a teacher. The morning session also featured the official oath-taking of newly hired and promoted employees.
The spotlight of the celebration was the conferment of campus-level teaching award in the afternoon program, celebrating educators through the Natatanging Guro and the Dangal ni Inang Pamantasan distinctions for the Top 5 Outstanding Faculty for Teaching Effectiveness in Academic Year 2025–2026. The celebration continued with musical and cultural performances presented by students, Administrative Employees Association, and Faculty Association.
PAGPUPUGAY 2026 concluded with expressions of gratitude for the enduring passion of educators, reinforcing PNU’s mission to nurture compassionate, competent, and future-ready education leaders.
